Bloody attack | 14 members of regime forces killed and 19 others injured in ISIS attack on military bus in Palmyra desert

Homs province: 14 members of regime forces were killed and 19 others sustained various injuries in an attack by ISIS members on a military bus carrying members of regime forces in the “Third Station” area in Palmyra desert in eastern Homs countryside.
The injured members were taken to Palmyra hospital for treatment, amid a state of high security alert among regime forces.
Syrian desert has witnessed remarkable escalation of attacks by ISIS members on positions and military posts of regime forces in regime-held areas.

On January 7, SOHR sources reported that a member of the 4th Division was shot dead by gunmen of ISIS cells on a motorcycle intercepted near Al-Hassan school in Al-Mayadeen city in eastern Deir Ezzor.

Similarly, groups of ISIS attacked checkpoints of the regime in Al-Kawm area northern of Al-Sukhna City in eastern Homs countryside, and clashed with regime forces and its loyal gunmen in the region. However, no casualties were reported.
On the same context, members of ISIS attacked a group of shepherds in Al-Badae’ area southern of Tamr City, killing one of the shepherds and kidnapping another in addition to killing more than 100 sheep.
