New attack | Five members of “National Defence” kil*led by IS*IS cells while collecting truffle in Hama

Hama province: Five members of the “National Defence” were killed in an attack by ISIS cells, while the members were collecting in the vicinity of Tel Salma area in Al-Salmiya countryside eastern of Hama, where the gunmen fled to an unknown destination.

Earlier today, SOHR activists reported that three members of the National Defence Forces were killed and three others were severely injured due to the explosion of a landmine planted earlier by unidentified gunmen believed to be of ISIS cells.
The landmine exploded in the members’ car while they were heading to pick truffles in Deir Ezzor desert.

According to SOHR statistics, the number of fatalities in military operations in the Syrian desert since early 2024 has increased to 143; and they are as follows:

• 17 ISIS members were killed by regime forces and their proxy militias.

• 111 members of regime forces and their proxy militias, including 13 Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen, were killed in 53 operations by ISIS members, including ambushes, armed attacks, and explosions, in west Euphrates region and the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Al-Raqqah, Homs.

• 15 civilians, including a child, were killed in attacks by ISIS in the Syrian desert.

Here is a regional distribution of ISIS attacks:

-Deir Ezzor desert: 17 operations left 31 fatalities:

• 29 combatants, including seven Iranian-backed militiamen.

• Two ISIS members.

• Two truffle pickers.

-Homs desert: 27 operations left 68 fatalities:

• 50 combatants, including three Iranian-backed militiamen.

• 12 ISIS members.

• Six civilian.

-Al-Raqqah desert: Four operations left 16 fatalities:

• 13 combatants.

• Three ISIS members.

-Hama desert: Four operations left 22 fatalities:

• Ten combatant.

• 12 civilians, including a child.

-Aleppo: One operation left three Iranian-backed militiamen dead.
