During their attempt to smuggle civilians into Turkish territory | Young man killed and another injured after “Jandarma” military vehicle run over them

Al-Raqqah province: A young man was killed and another was severely injured and taken to the hospital for treatment after a military vehicle of the Turkish border guard forces “Jandarma” ran over them, during their attempt to smuggle civilians into Turkish territory from Suluk town, within the areas controlled by the Turkish-backed factions in the northern countryside of Al-Raqqah. It is noted that the two young men work in human smuggling into Turkish territory, one of them hails from Deir Ezzor countryside and the other from Al-Raqqah.

Accordingly, SOHR has documented five civilians killed by the Turkish border guard forces “Jandarma” since the beginning of 2024, in various Syrian areas located near and at the border with Turkey. In addition, six civilians, including a girl, were injured.
The fatalities were distributed as follows:
– HTS-held areas: Four civilians, including a child, in Idlib countryside.
– Areas held by Turkish-backed factions: One civilian.
