Second consecutive day | Regime forces bring in military reinforcement after the failure of negotiations to release officers in Al-Suwaidaa city

Al-Suwaidaa province: SOHR sources have reported that regime security services brought in new military reinforcement to Al-Suwaidaa province from the capital Damascus for the second consecutive day.

The convoy comprised five buses carrying dozens of combatants and several vehicles equipped with medium machineguns.
This comes after the failure of negotiations to release regime officers who were detained by residents to exert pressure on regime forces to release a university student who was detained by regime forces in Latakia.
On April 25, SOHR sources reported that areas in Al-Suwaidaa witnessed great tension between the residents on the one hand, and members and officers of the regime forces on the other hand, against the background of the regime security services continuing to arrest a university student from Al-Suwaidaa since February 11, when he was arrested in Latakia. Today, vigilante groups detained a number of regime officers, including an officer with the rank of colonel, who is the head of the Immigration and Passports Branch, after many groups have deployed since the early hours of this hours, on Damascus-Al-Suwaidaa road, while the regime’s security services prevented regime officers and members from entering Al-Suwaidaa province for fear of being detained.
According to the information, the fate of the young man remains unknown after his arrest, despite his family’s attempts to release him, amid information that he was tortured inside the regime’s prisons.
