Family infighting | Civilian injured during armed clashes among cousins in western Deir Ezzor countryside

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR sources have reported that armed clashes erupted among cousins from “Al-Abdul Qader” tribe and members of “Al-Buarab” tribe in Meheiymeidah town in western Deir Ezzor countryside within SDF-held areas following a dispute over evading paying the price of a car.

 

The clashes left a civilian injured, amid appeals to notables and security forces in the region to break up the clashes.

 

Accordingly, the number of infightings which followed disputes over retaliation and family and tribal disagreements in areas controlled by the Autonomous Administration has reached 38 since early 2024. According to SOHR statistics, these infightings left 19 people, including a woman and a child, dead and 95 others injured; they are distributed regionally as follows:

 

  • Deir Ezzor: 27 infightings left five persons, including a child, dead and 53 others injured.

 

  • Al-Raqqah: Three infightings left eight people dead and 20 others injured.

 

  • Aleppo: Three infightings left a civilian dead and 14 others, including an Asayish member, injured.

 

  • Al-Hasakah: Five infightings left five persons, including a woman, dead and eight others injured.
