Tens of raids target the south of Damascus and the regime forces manage with their allies to advance again in the south of ISIS-controlled areas

The south of Damascus witnessed this morning, Friday the 27th of April 2018, the continuation of violent clashes and intensive aerial and ground shelling, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored shelling by helicopters by explosive barrels on areas in Al-Hajar al-Aswad neighborhood, in conjunction with bombardment by warplanes on areas in the southern part of the capital Damascus, where the warplanes targeted areas in Yarmouk Camp and other areas in Al-Hajar al-Aswad by tens of raids, amid shelling by artillery and rocket shells and missiles believed to be ground-to-ground, which caused material damage, and caused further material damage to the property of the citizens, while people of Yarmouk Camp are still missing and their destiny is not known until now, while the aerial, artillery and rocket shelling and the bombardment by explosive barrels, is continuing on the neighborhoods of Yarmouk Camp, Al-Kadam, Al-Hajar al-Aswad and Al-Tadamon, in conjunction with exchange of targeting in the contact areas between the conflicting parties in the south of Damascus.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the continuation of violent clashes between the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities against the “Islamic State” organization, in areas in the vicinity of the neighborhoods of Yarmouk Camp, Al-Kadam, Al-Hajar al-Aswad and Al-Tadamon, amid advancement by the regime forces from the southern part of the organization’s controlled areas, in advance of the regime forces along the factions’ positions in the southern Rif Dimashq, where the regime forces are trying to separate ISIS controlled areas from the factions’ controlled areas to confine the organization within a fully closed enclave includes the abovementioned neighborhoods, and the SOHR monitored that the regime forces managed to achieve advancement in the area between Yalda and the south of Damascus, while the SOHR learned that the regime forces have opened the crossing of Sidi Mekdad – Babilla, for the citizens to enter the south of Damascus again, while 2 shells fell on areas in Yalda town controlled by the factions in the southern Rif Dimashq.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published this morning that it has increased to 74 members at least of the regime forces and militiamen loyal to them of Syrian and non-Syrian nationalities, who were killed in 8 days of clashes, including a number of officers, and including 5 members were executed, while it has increased to 59, the number of members of the organization who were killed in the shelling, clashes and targeting that left tens of wounded in the ranks of the both parties, and the death toll is expected to rise because of the continued combat operations and the presence of injured cases in critical situation, and the SOHR published yesterday that the clashes in the area of the enclave controlled by Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, resulted in the fall of more human losses, where it has increased to at least 22, the number of the casualties of the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them, while t has increased to 19, the number of members of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham who were killed in these clashes, the SOHR also documented the death of 10 fighters who were killed in as a result of bombardment by helicopters by explosive barrels on an area in the outskirts of the southern Rif Dimashq at the contact lines with the south of the capital Damascus, including commanders in Jaysh al-Islam which operates in the area, also the shelling injured several people including commanders in Jaysh al-Islam, and the death toll is expected to rise because there are some people in critical situation, while the Syrian Observatory documented the death of 19 persons at least at least who have been killed since Thursday the 19th of April 2018, in Yarmouk Camp and the south of the capital Damascus, including a man, his wife and their child, 3 other citizen women, an old man and an ambulance driver, and the SOHR also documented the death of 10 persons at least including 3 children as a result of the fall of shells on areas in Al-Zahira, Nahr Eshe and other areas in the vicinity of the capital Damascus.
