New Israeli strikes hit Iranians and proxy militias’ positions in Syria

SOHR activists say that loud explosions rocked the capital Damascus and its vicinity on Monday morning, caused by a new Israeli airstrike, targeting areas in south and south-west of Damascus.

The targeted areas contain headquarters and positions of the Iranian forces and Lebanese Hezbollah and proxy militias of Syrian and non-Syrian citizens. No casualties have been reported yet.

The attack was carried out from inside Lebanese territory, while regime anti-aircraft defences tried to intercept the missiles, and managed to shoot down some of them.

On April 20, Reliable source informed the Syrian Observatory that at least nine militiamen of Iranian-backed militias and the Lebanese Hezbollah were killed in Israeli strikes on their positions in Palmyra area in eastern countryside of Homs yesterday evening.

Three Syrian militiamen were confirmed dead among the total death toll.

Yesterday, SOHR activists reported hearing explosions in the eastern countryside of Homs, caused by regime anti-aircraft defences while intercepting strikes by Israeli aircraft from the airspace of Lebanon. The strikes targeted military posts of Iranian militias in Palmyra desert, east of Homs province. No casualties were reported.
