IS Kills Almost a Dozen of Syrian Regime Soldiers

ERBIL – The Islamic State (IS) insurgents attacked the Syrian regime forces on Thursday, leaving more than ten soldiers killed, a war monitor reported.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) cited “reliable” sources as reporting that the IS militants targeted a military convoy of the regime forces in an area between al-Sukhana and al-Shawlah, Deir ez-Zor province.

At least 11 regime soldiers were killed in the attack, SOHR said, adding that the death toll was likely to rise as many other troops and militias loyal to the regime forces had also been wounded in the incident.

However, other unconfirmed reports claimed that there were more casualties than reported.
