“De-escalation zone” | Regime forces on high alert as tense calm prevails in the area

Syrian Observatory activists have monitored tens calm prevailing throughout the “de-escalation zone”, stretching from the north-eastern mountains of Lattakia, to the north-western suburbs of Aleppo city passing through both Hama and Idlib, on the 80th consecutive day of the recent ceasefire.

Meanwhile, SOHR sources say that regime forces are on high alert on the frontlines of Idlib countryside, especially Saraqeb area and Jabal Al-Zawiyah in the southern countryside.

Yesterday, Observatory sources monitored fierce clashes in the early hours of Saturday morning in areas near Kafr Nubl and Al-Bara in the southern countryside of Idlib, between regime forces and opposition factions.

The clashes, which were accompanied by intensive rocket shelling, followed an infiltration attempt by regime forces into positions of the rebels in the area.
