linking Euphrates two banks | Iranian factions to build a bridge

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported that Iran-backed faction has started building a bridge to connect seven villages under its control on the eastern bank of Euphrates; Hatlah, Mirat, Mazloum, Khousham, Al-Tabyah, Al-Salihiyah and Al-Hosayniyah with other ears under its control on the west bank of the river.

The construction process that has been conducted in Al-Hosayniyah on the east and Al-Howayqah on the west bank of the river comes despite the presence of the Russian Bridge along with some areas at the bank on both sides.

However, the new under-construction bridge will be run by Iran-controlled factions that are stationed in some areas at the river two banks.

On December 5, SOHR activists reported seeing a shipment of arms and ammunition loaded on vegetable trucks for camouflage purposes “for fear of being targeted” by the United States or Israel. The convoy of trucks entered Syrian territory from Iraq, and headed to Mayadin city, an Iranian stronghold west of Euphrates, where the trucks’ contents had been unloaded into warehouses in the ancient Shibli area.
