Renew airstrikes | Russian jets hit ISIS hideouts in Al-Raqqa desert

Russian fighter jets have bombed ISIS hideouts in Al-Rusafa desert northeast of Al-Raqqa since the early hours of Friday morning.

Russian airstrikes are coinciding with combing operations initiated by regime forces and non-Syrian militias two days ago in search of ISIS cells in the Syrian desert.

On December 22, SOHR activists reported that Al-Quds Brigade, Al-Baqir Brigade, Fatemiyoun militia, Russian Wagner mercenaries, National Defence Forces, and regime forces launched a large-scale military operation against ISIS cells in the Syrian desert in light of the escalating attacks by ISIS cells.
The recent operation covers the area from the desert of Homs to the south-eastern region of Aleppo province running through the deserts of Hama, Al-Raqqa, and Deir Ezzor.

On December 22, Russian fighter jets carried out 13 airstrikes on ISIS hideouts in Al-Tabani deserts in the western countryside of Deir Ezzor and Al-Rusafa, northeast of Al-Raqqa this morning, for the second consecutive day, bringing the number of Russian airstrikes on ISIS hideouts in the last 24 hours, to 25 airstrikes
