Tens of fighters were killed during the violent clashes in Al-Raqqah city and the “Euphrates Wrath” Operation Forces advance west of the city

The stronghold of the “Islamic State” organization in Syria is witnessing since the 1st of July 2017 continued violent clashes between the Syria Democratic Forces and the “Euphrates Wrath” Operation Forces supported by the International Coalition warplanes against the “Islamic State” organization, in areas at the outskirts of Al-Raqqah city, where the clashes are concentrated in al-Kornish Street between Al-Hal Market and Hisham bin Abdul Malik neighborhood, in conjunction with clashes in areas west of the city, and the Syrian Observatory For human rights learned that the Syria Democratic Forces managed to achieve advancement west of the city and controlled the area between al-Safahiyyeh neighbourhood and the outskirts Yarmouk neighborhood west and south-west of the city, the clashes accompanied by bombing by the International Coalition warplanes on the organization’s sites and its controlled areas.

These clashes caused casualties in the ranks of both parties, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented at least 23 fighters of the Syria Democratic Forces who were killed in the explosions and clashes against the organization, while at least 17 members of the organization were killed in the airstrikes and clashes that accompanied them, also other fighters of both parties were injured.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published yesterday night that the Syria Democratic forces who lead the “Euphrates Wrath” Operation, were able to advance after hours of fight against the “Islamic State” organization, where these forces took control of al-Hal Market and became on a contact with the Hisham bin Abdul Malik neighborhood, which is considered the first neighbourhood south of Al-Raqqah city and adjacent to the northern bank of the Euphrates River, in conjunction with their control over more sites in al-Sinaa neighbourhood.
