Mobilizations coincide with ongoing talks to reach “Ghouta’s agreement”… anticipation to bring 8000 Chinese soldiers in order to participate in securing the capital Damascus and control the Eastern Ghouta
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored continuation of the calm in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, since the midnight of Thursday – Friday, intervened by only one violation through targeting Harasta city by 2 artillery shells, after the pace of the bombardment by warplane sand the shelling by the regime forces and gunmen loyal to them by missiles and artillery shells, had decreased, where they left during the period between the afternoon of the 10th of February 2018 until the night of the 15th of February 2018, 30 civilian casualties including 8 children and 4 citizen women who were killed in the aerial and artillery shelling, and whose death was documented by the SOHR, since the warplanes returned in the afternoon of the 10th of February 2018, to the Eastern Ghouta and the start of shelling by the regime forces on areas in it, after clam lasted for about 24 hours preceded the return of the shelling.
This calm is coincided with the continuation of the talks about the Eastern Chouta, in order to reach an agreement between the factions operation in the Eastern Ghouta and supervising it, and the regime’s authorities with a Russian mediation, while the talks are taking place in conjunction with ongoing mobilizations in the vicinity of the besieged Ghouta, by the regime forces and their allies, in order to carry out a wide operation in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, under the command of the Brigadier in the regime forces, Suhail Al-Hassan, known as the “Tiger”, who led the battle during which the organization was expelled from Aleppo, the Syrian desert and the west of the Euphrates, and fought previously against the rebel and Islamic factions.
The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights obtained information from a number of reliable sources, that if the talks and negotiations failed to achieve “reconciliation” in the Eastern Ghouta, then, about 8000 Chinese troops will be brought to participate in the military operations in Rif Dimashq, in order to control the Eastern Ghouta, and secure the vicinity of the capital Damascus, where bringing the Chinese soldiers is associated with the failure of negotiations about the Eastern Ghouta, and it is noteworthy that the Russian forces officially took part in the military operations in Syria on the 30th of September 2015, in the regime’s side by air and land, and the Turkish forces officially entered Syria on the 24th of August 2016, while the International Coalition officially entered and participated in the military operations in Syria on the 23rd of September 2014.
And the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 14th of February 2018, that it monitored more human losses as a result of this hysterical and savage shelling, which took place before the silent international community which concentrates its efforts against the usage of the chemical weapons and gases, and is blind about the killing with the common weapons, this killing which resulted in tens of massacres in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, since the 14th of November 2017, where the death toll has increased to 760 citizens including 176 children under the age of eighteen, 116 citizen women over the age of eighteen, who were killed in the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, since the 14th of November 2017, in which the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 531 citizens including 136 children and 91 citizen women by the raids carried out by the warplanes, while the SOHR documented the death of 229 citizens including 40 children and 25 citizen women due to shelling by artillery, mortar and tanks, as well as shelling by missiles believed to be ground-to-ground, while the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights has documented the injury of more than 2200 persons including tens of children and citizen women, some of whom have amputated limbs and permanent disabilities, while the others are still suffering serious wounds suffering from the lack of the medical staff and the shortage of medicine, as a result of the continuous siege imposed on the eastern Ghouta, and the ongoing shelling rose the number of strikes on the towns and cities of the Eastern Ghouta of Damascus, where the regime forces targeted Hasrsta city and Madira town and the vicinity of Vehicle Management by more than 2340 missile and artillery shelling and missiles believed to be ground-to-ground since the 14th of November. The SOHR documented at least 890 airstrikes that targeted Harasta city and Madyara town, and the SOHR also documented at least 730 airstrikes targeted the cities of Douma, Erbin, Zamlka, Hamuriyah, Misraba, Madira and other areas in the Eastern Ghouta in the same period, while it rose to at least 1450, the number of shells and missiles believed to be ground-to-ground fired by the regime forces that targeted the cities and towns of Ein Tarma, Jisreen Douma, Hamuriya, Saqba, Misraba, Arbin, Kafrbatna, Beit Sawa, Beit Nayem, Haza, Al-Ashary farms, Zamlka, Al-Nashabiya, and Al-Marj area.
