Regime forces fail to approach Saraqeb town as opposition factions repel more than six attempts to advance into the area

The Observatory activists report that violent clashes continued on frontlines in western and southern rural Aleppo, between opposition factions and jihadist groups on one side, and regime forces and loyalists on the other, accompanied by intensive Russian airstrikes on the frontlines and other places in Khan al-Asal, al-Mansoura and Kafrhamra, Khan Touman, the 46th regiment and Urem Al-Kubra.

Fierce clashes continue between the two sides on frontlines in the eastern and south-eastern rural Idlib. Opposition factions were able to repel more than six regime forces’ attempts to advance on Tal Mardikh and inflicted heavy casualties among regime forces, and at least three soldiers were taken prisoner, after regime forces retreated yesterday for nearly five km from Saraqeb.

Meanwhile, regime forces are trying to advance from Haysh’s frontline towards Armanaya village near Ma’arhatat, while Idlib’s frontlines have not seen any regime forces air support despite the violent attacks.

The Syrian Observatory documented the killing of more than 54 members among regime forces and loyalists in 24 hours of heavy battles in Aleppo and Idlib, and some 40 fighters, including 29 jihadists, were killed in the same battles.

The death toll of both sides rises due to air and ground bombardments and violent clashes since the evening of the 24th of this month.

The death toll of regime forces and loyalists rises to 233, including six pro-Iranian foreign militias, while the death toll of opposition fighters rises to 240, including 179 members of jihadist groups.
