Rif Dimashq | Unknown individuals set tires on fire and block side streets in Saqba, protesting deteriorating living conditions

SOHR activists in eastern Ghouta have confirmed that unknown young people set rubber tires on fire in Saqba city in the past few hours, they put these tires later on the city’s highways separating it from the neighbouring Hamouriyyah city.

According to SOHR sources, these young people have distributed leaflets demanding locals protest the deteriorating living conditions and the economic collapse, as people are not able to secure their essential needs in the light of high prices and lack of job opportunities.

After this incident, patrols of the regime’s air-force intelligence stationed in Hamouriyyah city headed to the area, in an attempt to arrest the young people, who had already escaped. The Intelligence members also opened the roads, removed the burned tires and searched for the leaflets.
