29 Militants Were Killed In Recent Greater Idlib Conflict

A total of 29 militants were killed in the recent conflict between Hay’at Tahrir al-Sham (HTS) and the Fa Ithbatu Operations Room in Greater Idlib, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported on June 26.

“The clashes have claimed the lives of 29 fighters from both sides … 18 of them were personnel of Horas al-Din [one of Fa Ithbatu factions], including a foreign commander, and 11 were members of HTS,” the London-based monitoring group said in a report.

The fighting between HTS and Fa Ithbatu to an end earlier today, when they reached a detailed agreement to resolve their dispute.

The SOHR reported that the agreement is now being implemented. Fa Ithbatu is withdrawing its militants from their headquarters and checkpoints in western Idlib. Meanwhile, HTS is deploying its security forces between the town of Arab Said and the al-Roug Valley.

While the military confrontation between HTS and Fa Ithbatu appears to be over, the two sides will likely continue to clash over influence in Greater Idlib.
