After publishing video interview with Al-Britani’s wife | HTS arrests U.S. journalist

SOHR sources say that members of the HTS’ security service arrested a journalist of U.S. nationality “Bilal Abdul Karim” from the town of Atma, north of Idlib.

HTS’ security members also beat him and took him to an unknown destination.

This comes shortly after the publication of a video interview with the wife of the relief worker Abu Hussam al-Britani, during which she spoke of the torture of her husband by HTS and his inappropriate arrest from his place in the town of Atma, north of Idlib.

On August 11, SOHR activists said that members of Haya’at Tahrir Al-Sham (HTS) arrested the relief worker “Abu Hussam al-Britani” from his place in the town of Atma, north of Idlib, more than 25 days after he was released, following mediation by the elders of the region.

Abu Hussam al-Britani is one of the most prominent figures working in the relief field in northern Syria.

The reason for his arrest is likely to be his advocacy and support for “Abu al-Abd Ashida’a” who is also detained in Tahrir al-Sham prisons.
