At Least 10 Pro-Iran Militias Killed in Alleged Israeli Airstrikes in Syria: Report

Vehicles, ammunition depots said destroyed as explosions rock Deir Ezzor governorate

At least 10 pro-Iran militia fighters were killed in alleged Israeli airstrikes in the Syrian province of Deir Ezzor, the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights (SOHR) reported Monday.

According to the war monitor, at least six powerful blasts rocked the province early on Monday, destroying the vehicles and ammunition depots used by the militias.

Most of those killed in the overnight strike were fighters of non-Syrian origin, the war monitor added, counting two Syrians and eight Iraqis among those killed.

On Friday, Syrian state media claimed that the country’s air defense batteries managed to repel an alleged Israeli airstrike on targets in the area of Aleppo.

The strikes reportedly targeted an Iranian Revolutionary Guards Corps missile factory in the town of al-Safirah, southeast of Aleppo in northern Syria.

According to SOHR, at least seven militias were also killed in an earlier strike on the positions of Iraqi Hezbollah in the city of Al-Mayadeen, Deir Ezzor.
