Coronavirus in NW Syria | 325 new cases detected in 24 hours, bringing total number of infection cases to 3,190

Health authorities recorded yesterday 325 new infection cases with COVID-19 in north-west Syria region, which is under the control of HTS and Turkish-backed factions in Aleppo and Idlib provinces.

According to Observatory statistics, the total number of confirmed cases recorded since July 9 to date has risen to 3,190, including doctors and medics.

Meanwhile, 71 cases were recovered in the past 24 hours, bringing the total number of recovered cases to 1,371.

Yesterday, the “Salvation Government” issued a decision closing restaurants, wedding halls, public swimming pools and gyms, in addition to preventing popular bazaars and markets from selling birds, animals and motorcycles due to the large increase in the number of coronavirus infection cases. The new decision is valid from Tuesday until the end of October.

On the other hand, Syrian Observatory activists documented a spike in the number of deaths in the wake of coronavirus outbreaks in north-western Syria. 23 people died so far in areas under the control of the “Salvation government” in Idlib and surrounding areas, and areas controlled by the “Interim Government” in north Aleppo countryside.
