Russian activity in Syria | Russian forces tour northern Al-Hasakah countryside, while Russian helicopters fly over areas from Aleppo countryside frontlines to Al-Hasakah countryside

Syrian Observatory activists have reported seeing Russian forces conducting a military patrol comprising three military vehicles on Tuesday morning in the western countryside of Al-Darbasiyah, reaching Abu Rasin/Zarkan countryside, north of Al-Hasakah, amid a flight of two helicopters.

This comes as part of routine patrols conducted by Russian forces on the border with Turkey.

SOHR activists have also monitored two Russian helicopters flying along the frontlines between areas controlled by Kurdish forces and regime north of Aleppo and areas controlled by Turkish forces and their factions.

The helicopters have flown over the villages of Harbel and Umm Al-Hosh, adjacent to Marea city, north of Aleppo, to the outskirts of Al-Bab, east of Aleppo.

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that some residents, who were recently displaced over the propaganda of imminent Turkish operation, have returned to their houses in the countryside of Zarkan, Te Tamr, northwest of Al-Hasakah.

The displacement of most residents had followed the shelling of villages and towns in the northern and northwestern countryside of Al-Hasakah. However, caution calm prevailed in the area and coincided with a daily flight by Russian warplanes over the area, reaching Manbij and Tel Rifaat in the northern and eastern countryside of Aleppo.

SOHR activists also reported seeing Russian helicopters flying over the border strip north of Al-Hasakah, reaching areas between areas controlled by SDF and regime on the one hand and areas controlled by Turkish forces and National Army faction in “Peace Spring” area on the other.

This flight by Russian helicopters came amid the ongoing ceasefire for nearly eight days on Tel Tamr and Abu Rasin frontlines.
