Ain Issa | Tension between SDF and Russian forces reaches an end

SOHR sources have reported that the tension between Syria Democratic Forces and Russian forces in Ain Issa district reached an end, after having lasted for two hours. Earlier today, SDF had brought in military reinforcement to Ain Issa district and encircled the Russian base and patrols in that area following a disagreement between both sides during popular protests. According to Observatory sources, protestors gathered in front of the Russian base in Ain Issa, demanding the Russians interfere and exert pressure on Turkish forces to stop their violent bombardment, but Russian forces told the protestors that they have nothing to do with this bombardment. Accordingly, SDF prevented Russian patrols from leaving Ain Issa or being deployed around the Russian base, before the disagreement between both sides reached an end.

A few hours ago, reliable SOHR sources confirmed that SDF patrols encircled Russian forces stationed in Ain Issa district in north Al-Raqqah countryside following a disagreement between the two sides for unknown reasons.

According to SOHR sources, the SDF patrols imposed a strict siege on Russian bases and patrols in Ain Issa district, amid rising tension. Meanwhile, Russian helicopters flew over the area and dropped light bombs.
