Military escalation | Nine Iranian-backed militiamen killed by Coalition strikes in less than 24 hours and Iranian militias redeploy in areas in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: US soldiers were injured by shells fired from Iranian-backed militia positions on Koniko gas field base in Deir Ezzor countryside.

Meanwhile, three Iranian-backed militiamen were killed in an attack waged by “International coalition,” on a rocket launch vehicle that was stationed in the vicinity of Deir Ezzor countryside in SDF-held areas.

The Coalition attack came four hours after the shelling hit Koniko gas field base.

After midnight, coalition forces also bombarded positions of Iranian-backed militia in Al-Mayadeen area, leaving no casualties.

Accordingly, the death toll of Iranian-backed militiamen rises to nine in less than 24 hours.

Iranian-backed militiamen in areas controlled by Iranian-backed militia in west Euphrates were put on high alert and repositioned and deployed in Al-Mayadeen and its countryside, Al-Bokamal, Al-Quriyah and the western banks of the Euphrates river, after a day of exchange of shelling and military escalation in the area.

Yesterday evening, SOHR activists reported that two missiles hit the vicinity of the International Coalition base in Koniko Gas Field in Deir Ezzor countryside, fired from areas of Iranian-backed militias in Hatla in northern Deir Ezzor countryside. However, no casualties were reported.

As a response, International Coalition forces then fired missiles at the sources of fire, amid the flight of Coalition helicopters in the region.

Earlier yesterday, explosions were heard in Deir Ezzor city, at dawn, caused by airstrikes by US aircraft, targeting “Ayyash” warehouses and an Iranian-backed militia military camp in Deir Ezzor.

According to the sources, at 4 A.M., the US aircraft launched over three airstrikes with high-explosive missiles, destroying Ayyash warehouses and AlSa’iqah camp, Afghan Fatimiyoun militia’s headquarters.

According to sources, the US attack left six Syrian and non-Syrian guards dead and a number of Iranian-backed militiamen wounded.

The ambulances rushed to the site of the explosion to transfer the casualties.
