Months after being closed | SDF reopen Al-Matahen bridge near central pri*son which hosts IS-IS pri*soners in Al-Raqqah

Al-Raqqah province: SDF reopened today Al-Matahen bridge near the central prison which hosts several “ISIS” prisoners in Al-Raqqah city.

The bridge was closed due to fear of “ISIS” attacks on the prison in an attempt to release “ISIS” prisoners, where American forces with SDF forces were stationed on the bridge.

SDF and “International Coalition” forces are tightening security procedures on prisons that host “ISIS” members in anticipation of retaliatory attacks by “ISIS” cells.

On December 26, three members of (SDF), three members of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) and two members of (ISIS) cells were killed in an attack by ISIS members on SDF military headquarters in Al-Intifadah neighbourhood in the western countryside of Al-Raqqa, near an intelligence prison.
