Heading to Al-Hasakah | Column of oil trucks comes under attack by ISIS in rural Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR sources have reported that ISIS members on motorcycles opened fire on a column of oil trucks near the entrance of Al-Busayrah city in eastern Deir Ezzor, forcing the trucks to stop. SDF-backed security forces were put on high alert after the attack on the convoy which was on its way to Al-Hasakah.

 

Yesterday, SOHR sources reported that gunmen on motorbikes, believed to be ISIS members, threw a grenade on the house of an oil investor in Hawayj Zaiban town in Al-Raghib neighbourhood in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside.

 

On the same context, clashes erupted between ISIS cells on one hand and gunmen from Hawayj Zaiban town on the other hand, where heavy weapons and B7 shells were used.

 

SOHR has documented 28 operations carried out by ISIS, including armed attacks and explosions, in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration since early 2023. According to SOHR statistics, these operations left 21 persons dead: four civilians, 15 members of SDF, the Internal Security Forces (Asayish), and other military formations operating in areas under the control of the Autonomous Administration and one unidentified man. These operations are distributed regionally as follows:

 

  • Al-Raqqah: Seven attacks left three combatants dead.

 

  • Deir Ezzor: 17 attacks left four civilians, an unidentified man and seven combatants dead.

 

  • Aleppo: Two attacks left six combatants, including commanders, dead.

 

  • Al-Hasakah: Two attacks left a combatant dead and others injured.
