While sneaking into Turkey | Child drowns in Al-A’asy River between Idlib and Luwaa Iskandrun

A 15 years-old child drowns in Al-A’asy River in Darkosh area western of Idlib while trying to sneak into Turkey.

Al-A’asy River separates between areas in Idlib and Luwaa Iskandrun, from Darkosh all the way to Salqin in north western of Idlib countryside.

On February 4, residents found the body of a young man in his thirties at the sides of Al-A’asy River near Al-Alany village in the countryside of Salqin city western of Idlib, while trying to cross the river and reach Turkey.

Accordingly, the number of civilians killed by Turkish border guards (Jandarma) since early 2023 in different areas near the Syria-Turkey border has increased to eight. In addition, 12 civilians were injured in gunfire by Turkish Jandarma in the same period. The casualties are distributed regionally as follows:
• Areas controlled by “Peace Spring” operations room in Al-Hasakah countryside: Five men were killed.
• Areas controlled by Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and opposition factions: A man was killed.
• Areas controlled by “Euphrates Shield” operations room in north Aleppo countryside: Two young men were killed and five others were injured.
