South Syria | Nearly ten rockets hit positions in the occupied Syrian Golan and Israel reacts by shelling positions in Daraa countryside

Groups working for the Lebanese Hezbollah fired nearly ten rockets on positions in the occupied Syrian Golan, where SOHR activists in the western countryside of Daraa reported hearing the explosions caused by this bombardment.

This round of rocket fire comes after groups backed by Iran and the Lebanese Hezbollah suspended their attacks on the occupied Syrian Golan for over 15 days.

Meanwhile, Israeli forces reacted to this rocket fire by firing rockets on positions in Nawa countryside in the western countryside of Daraa, but no casualties were reported.

SOHR sources had reported that Iranian-backed groups ceased their attacks on the occupied Syrian Golan since early 2024, except for only one attack carried out on January 1.

It is worth noting that Hezbollah-backed groups stationed in Syrian territory carried out 18 rounds of rocket attacks on the occupied Syrian Golan since the beginning of the latest violent aggression by Israel on the Gaza Strip; they are distributed as follows:

  • Five rounds in October.

  • Five rounds in November.

  • Six rounds in December.

  • Two rounds in January.
