Deir Ezzor | Civilian and member of SDF injured in infighting between two families

Deir Ezzor province: Family infighting erupted with machineguns and RPG shells between cousins of “Al-Awad Al-Hayes” Family and “Al-Mohaidy Al-Hayes” Family in Gharanij Town eastern of Deir Ezzor, while SDF interfered to break the clashes and installed a military checkpoint in houses near the clashes.

On the same context, a person fired an RPG shells on a gathering of military forces, injuring a military member and a civilian and they were taken to a hospital to receive proper medication, while SDF brought 15 military vehicles to the area of the incident.

On January 27, the senate of Al-Raqqa City organized a meeting in the presence of the joint presidency of the Executive Council in Al-Raqqa represented by Al-Sheikh “Mohammed Nour Al-Zeib”, and a number of dignitaries of tribes and military sides, in order to impose peace and take measures to stop the disputes between “Al-Jamasa” and “Al-Hamrat” Tribes.

On January 25, two civilians were killed following the eruption of tribal armed clashes between “Al-Jamasah” tribe and “Al-Balasem” family of “Al-Medlej” tribe in Hamrat Balasem village in Al-Hamrat area within SDF-held areas in the eastern countryside of Al-Raqqah, following an armed attack launched by young men from “Al-Medlej” tribe against “Al-Jamasah” tribe, against the backdrop of the renewal of an old dispute between the two tribes, as violent clashes erupted between both sides during the past year 2023, which led to the death of five persons of the two sides, amid continued tension in the region and calls by the residents for notables and security authorities, to intervene and disengage the clashes.
