Al-Sanamayn clashes | Five people killed during clashes between two local groups

Daraa province: SOHR activists have reported that five people were killed during clashes between two groups of local gunmen in Al-Sanamayn city in Daraa countryside. The fatalities are distributed as follows:

  • Two civilians, including a woman.

  • Two gunmen of the conflicting local groups, including one collaborating with the military intelligence branch and one collaborating with the state security service.

Earlier today, SOHR sources reported that clashes erupted between “Walid Al-Shattar” group and “Al-Shabat” group in several neighbourhoods in Al-Sanamayn city, amid storming several residential houses.

It is worth noting that the two conflicting groups are loyal to the regime security services.

The neighbourhoods of Al-Jam’iyah, Al-Kalash, Sheikh Jubair roundabout and Al-Shahadat in Al-Sanamayn city experienced clashes and heavy gunfire, along with blocking the roads to the southern neighbourhood in the city, because of the deployment of a large number of gunmen.

Since early 2024, SOHR activists have documented 29 incidents of security disorder in Daraa province, which left 45 people dead; and they are as follows:

  • Seven civilians, including two children and two women.

  • 17 regime soldiers, members and collaborators with regime security services.

  • Four men accused of “involving in drug business.”

  • One member of the Russian-backed 8th

  • Ten ISIS member, including a commander.

  • Six members of local factions.
