Dea*th toll update | Residents find body of member of “National Defence” kil*led in attack by IS*IS in Al-Raqqa

Al-Raqqa province: The body of az member of the “Natioanl Defence” militias was found shot dead after being kidnapped by ISIS cells in Al-Homma Desert in northern Al-Raqqa countryside, following the bloody attack by ISIS cells on a group of truffle collectors in the region.

Accordingly, the number of fatalities in that attack has increased to six: four NDF members and two civilians.

According to SOHR statistics, the number of fatalities in military operations in the Syrian desert since early 2024 has increased to 238; and they are as follows:

• 24 ISIS members were killed by regime forces and their proxy militias.

• 177 members of regime forces and their proxy militias, including 16 Iranian-backed Syrian militiamen, were killed in 92 operations by ISIS members, including ambushes, armed attacks, and explosions, in west Euphrates region and the deserts of Deir Ezzor, Al-Raqqah, Homs.

• 37 civilians, including a child and a woman, were killed in attacks by ISIS in the Syrian desert.

Here is a regional distribution of ISIS attacks:

-Deir Ezzor desert: 34 operations left 83 fatalities:

• 60 combatants, including seven Iranian-backed militiamen.

• Five ISIS members.

• 18 civilians, including 17 truffle pickers, among them there was a woman.

-Homs desert: 41 operations left 94 fatalities:

• 68 combatants, including three Iranian-backed militiamen.

• 16 ISIS members.

• Ten civilians, including two truffle pickers.

-Al-Raqqah desert: Ten operations left 29 fatalities:

• 24 combatants, including two Iranian-backed militiamen.

• Three ISIS members.

• Two civilian truffle pickers.

-Hama desert: Six operations left 31 fatality:

• 24 combatant, including an Iranian-backed militiaman.

• Seven civilians, including a child.

-Aleppo: One operation left three Iranian-backed militiamen dead.
