Fighting renews in the capital Damascus between ISIS and Tahrir Al-Sham and the former seeks to expand its control

Damascus Province – The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: clashes took place in areas in Yarmouk Camp in the south of the capital, between the “Islamic State” organization against Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, accompanied by shelling and exchange of targeting between the both parties, without information about casualties so far, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights published on the 17th of February 2018, that the pace of clashes has decreased in Yarmouk Camp in the southern section of the capital Damascus, between Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham against the “Islamic State” organization, after the violent and continuous attack by ISIS for the 4th straight day between both of them, in an attempt by the “Islamic State” organization to extend its control at the expense of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, where ISIS managed to advance and controlled new areas inside Yarmouk Camp, which is controlled mostly by the Organization, where the Syrian Observatory published hours ago that heSOHR monitored with the increasing controlled areas of ISIS in Al-Yarmouk camp, parts of which are still under ISIS control, the fall of causalities, as a result of artillery and missile shelling and an exchange of targeting between both parties, where the SOHR documented the death of at least 7 fighters of Hayaat Tahrir Al-Sham, who were killed in these clashes while more than 5 members of ISIS were killed in these violent clashes, and there is information about 5 members of the organization in these violent clashes, and there is information about more human losses in the ranks of both parties, while a state of resentment prevailed among the residents in Hayaat Tahrir Al-Sham-held areas caused by the advancement of the organization and reprisals against civilians.

It worth mentioning that the “Islamic State” Organization controls 4 villages and towns on the eastern banks of the Euphrates River which are Hajin, Abu al-Hassan, Sha’afah and Al-Baghuz, and the Organization is also present in the part in the northeastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, which is connected with the southern countryside of Al-Hasakah, which includes 22 villages and areas including Tal Al-Jaber, Tal al-Mnakh, Om Haffur, al-Rimat, Fakkah al-Tarraf, Fakkah al-Shwaykh, al-Hessu, al-Bawardi, al-Dshishiyah, Bajari Desert adjacent al-Suwar Desert which includes the administrative borders between Deir Ezzor and Al-Hasakah, and the organization still imposes its control on large spaces in the southern section of the capital Damascus, in large areas of Yarmouk Camp and Al-Tadamon neighborhood as well as large spaces of Al-Hajar al-Aswad neighborhood, and it is also presented in 14 communities in the eastern desert of Al-Sukhnah city in the eastern countryside of Homs and Al-Tiba area north of Al-Sukhnah.
