“Peace Spring” factions kidnap four civilians in rural Ras Al-Ain

Syrian Observatory sources have confirmed that Turkish-backed factions kidnapped four civilians from Al-Shukriyah village in Ras Al-Ain countryside, north of Al-Hasakah, taking them to unknown destination.

This incident comes as a part of attempts by the “National Defence” factions to clamp down on civilians in areas they captured during “Peace Spring” operation.

Observatory sources monitored on Monday evening violent clashes with machineguns and RPG in the neighbourhoods of Ras al-Ain city “Sari Kani”, between “Ahrar al-Sharqiya” and Turkish-backed “Al-Mutassim Brigade”. Clashes took place in the neighbourhood of Al-Mahata, Al-Abra, Church Street, the border crossing and Khazan Al-Miyah in the neighborhood of Kharabat.

Reliable sources informed the Syrian Observatory that the factions of “Al-Qaqaa Brigade” and the 20th Division were involved in the clashes.

Observatory activists documented the killing of two members of  “Al-Mutassim Brigade” and the injury of others. More rebels of the other factions were confirmed dead or wounded.

SOHR sources confirmed that the clashes ignited following a dispute over the sharing of money and royalties which the factions had imposed on residents, as well as the seizure of private property belonging to civilians.
