Repeated attempts by the “Euphrates Wrath” Operation Forces and the American forces to control the Division 17 and the sugar factory and preparations for an offensive on the second neighbourhood in Al-Raqqah city and advancement at its western outskirts

The “Euphrates Wrath” Operation forces continue to target areas in Al-Raqqah city, the main stronghold for the “Islamic State” organization in Syria, in conjunction with bombardment by warplanes of the International Coalition on the organization’s controlled areas in the city, and the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights was informed by reliable sources that the Division 17 and the Sugar factories are still under the control of the “Islamic State” organization, where the sources told the Syrian Observatory that the Syria Democratic Forces supported by the US special Forces wert able to enter Division 17, located in the north of Al-Raqqah city and attempted to go deep within the Division, but they were forced to retreat and withdraw as a result of the intense shelling by the “Islamic State” organization, and because of the intensity of the mines planted by the “Islamic State” organization to fortify the Division 17 and to prevent these forces from controlling it, while the reliable sources informed the Syrian Observatory that it is expected for a new military operation to start within the coming 24 hours, to control the Division 17 and expel the organization from it, and also to control the sugar factory adjacent to the Division 17, and confirmed information about casualties in the ranks of the Syria Democratic Forces as a result of this attack.

The reliable sources confirmed to the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights that the Syrian Elite Forces and the Syria Democratic Forces supported by US Special Forces managed to achieve advancement in the eastern outskirts of Al-Raqqah city and completed the control of the first neighbourhood of the city, al-Mashlab neighborhood, located east of Al-Raqqah city, while it is expected in the next few hours for an offensive to start an by the “Euphrates Wrath” Operation Forces, to control the neighborhoods of the eastern neighborhoods of al-Sinaa neighborhood, which is located west of al-Mashlab neighborhood in Al-Raqqah city, while the Syrian Observatory learned that the Syria Democratic Forces and the US Special Forces were able to advance west of Al-Raqqah city, towards the western outskirts of Al-Raqqah city.
