With 6 days of consecutive clashes… the Elite Forces enter the 2nd neighbourhood east of Al-Raqqah and SDF control large parts of the 2nd neighbourhood west of it

The explosions continue to shake Al-Raqqah city, the main stronghold for the “Islamic State” organization in Syria, as a result of the continued bombardment by the International Coalition and exchange of shelling between the “Euphrates Wrath” Operation Forces against the “Islamic State” organization in areas at the outskirts of the city and its surroundings, in conjunction with continued violent clashes between them both for the 6th consecutive day since the 6th of June 2017, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the Syrian Elite Forces of the “Euphrates Wrath” operation were able to advance with the participation of the Syria Democratic Forces in the southern part of al-Sinaa neighborhood west of al-Mashlab neighborhood, and in the area between the southern outskirts of the neighborhood and al-Hal Market near the northern banks of the Euphrates River, in an attempt by the Syrian Elite Forces to fortify the area and close the road in front of members of the “Islamic State” organization, who carry out counter attacks targeting the forces of the “Euphrates Wrath” operation, and reliable sources confirmed to the Observatory that hundreds of meters separate the Syrian Elite Forces and the Syria Democratic Forces from Bab Baghdad in the west of al-Sinaa neighborhood.
This advancement in the eastern outskirts of the city and in the 4ht neighbourhood in Al-Raqqah city after the neighborhoods of al-Mashlab, al-Sabahiya and al-Romaniya, comes in conjunction with violent clashes between the Syria Democratic Forces supported by US Special Forces against the “Islamic State” organization, in the western outskirts of Al-Raqqah city, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the “Euphrates Wrath” operation forces have managed to achieve advancement and control wide parts of al-Romaniya neighborhood, while the violently continued clashes are concentrated in areas in the eastern outskirts of al-Romaniya neighbourhood from the side of Euphrates basin residences.
