After conditional truce reached in al-Qamishli | Clashes erupt between Asayish Forces and NDF, while NDF members target school with RPGs

Al-Hasakah Province – Syrian Observatory for Human Rights: SOHR activists have reported hearing sporadic gunfire in the southern countryside of Halkou and Tayy neighbourhoods in al-Qamishli city in al-Hasakah countryside. On the other hand, NDF members targeted, with RPGs, a school in Halkou neighbourhood near the railway, but no casualties have been reported.

This development comes after a permanent and conditional truce has been reached in al-Qamishli, stipulating that NDF would comply with the agreement’s terms and not to breach the truce.

A few hours ago, SOHR sources reported that a new agreement reached between Asayish Forces and the National Defence Forces, under supervision by the Russians and Syria Democratic Forces, as a permanent truce was reached stipulating that NDF would comply with the agreement’s terms and not to breach the truce.

On the other hand, Asayish Forces called upon the residents of Tayy, who left their houses fleeing from the military escalation in the residential neighbourhoods, to return to their houses from Monday, April 26, after checking security posts to secure their return and check the safety of their properties.

SOHR sources had reported seeing Commandos forces of the Internal Security Forces (Asayish) deploying in Tayy neighbourhood in Al-Qamishli city, as tens of armed members entered the neighbourhood to secure it. This development coincided with the ongoing Russian-sponsored negotiations regarding Tayy neighbourhood.

SOHR sources in al-Qamishli city reported earlier today that members of the “National Defense Forces” violated the truce in Halko neighbourhood, by firing live bullets sporadically for a quarter of an hour, using individual and medium weapons, after which helicopters were seen flying over the neighbourhood before the sounds of gunfire stopped.
