ISIS resurgence | Gunmen attack Internal Security Forces’ checkpoint in Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: SOHR activists have reported that armed ISIS cells on motorbikes attacked a checkpoint of the Internal Security Forces in Al-Wahid village in northern Deir Ezzor countryside, injuring a member of the checkpoint, while the gunmen fled to an unknown destination.

On July 26, SOHR activists documented the severe injury of a member of the Internal Security, where unidentified gunmen believed to be ISIS cells targeted him in Suwaydan town in SDF-held areas in eastern Deir Ezzor countryside.

While on July 25, SOHR activists reported that unidentified gunmen, believed to be ISIS cells, executed a civilian, who hails from Al-Zer town eastern of Deir Ezzor.

According to reliable SOHR sources, the civilian is accused of “executing robberies and violent acts”, where his body was found with his hands tied and showing gunshots.
