Following dispute | Violent clashes erupt between cousins in eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor

Deir Ezzor province: In the early hours of today, violent clashes erupted between cousins from “Al-Khabour” and “Al-Abd Al-Hasan” families, in Garaniyj town, within SDF-held areas in the eastern countryside of Deir Ezzor, amid appeals by the residents if the town for the notables and security parties to intervene and resolve the clashes between both sides. However, no causalities were reported.
Accordingly, the number of infightings which followed disputes over retaliation and family and tribal disagreements in areas controlled by the Autonomous Administration has reached 19 since early 2024. According to SOHR statistics, these infightings left 12 people dead and 46 others injured; they are distributed regionally as follows:

• Deir Ezzor: 13 infightings left two people dead and 23 people injured.

• Al-Raqqah: Three infightings left eight people dead and 20 people injured.

• Aleppo: One infighting left two people injured.

• Al-Hasakah: Two infightings left two people killed and three injured
