About 40 civilians and fighters in Idlib were killed in 24 hours of fight between Ahrar al-Sham and Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham, the fight continues its 2nd day

Idlib province witnessed during the last night -which is the first night of clashes between the 2 largest factions operating in the Syrian north and in Idlib province, witnessed relatively quiet atmosphere, and this calmness was accompanied in a lot of areas in the province with clashes between the Islamic movement of Ahrar Al-Sham and Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, in Hirsh Abdeen in the southern countryside of Idlib, and the last mentioned was able to control it, while the clashes between them renewed on Thursday afternoon in places in the areas of Mar’ayan, al-Rami, Kfarhaya and al-Maghara, located in Jabal Al-Zawiyah in the southern sector of Idlib, while the vicinity of Jarjanaz town is witnessing mobilization for the fighters of Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham and their vehicles, amid information about their intention to storm the town and take control of it, while confirmed information reported that Hayyaat Tahrir al-Sham was able to control Isqat town which is next to Salqin city in the northern countryside of Idlib.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights learned that the tension and alert spread from Idlib province to the northern and northwestern countryside of Hama, where reliable sources monitored mobilization of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham in the vicinity of Kafr Nabudah and Shashabo Mountain, and the sources said that Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham intends to storm both areas, while attempts to mediate took place by “Sharia” and local mediators to stop the clashes between Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and the Islamic movement of Ahrar al-Sham, but they failed in stopping the fight and reaching a solution.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights monitored the clashes and documented the death of tens of civilians and fighters who were killed in the shelling and clashes, and the exchange of targeting between both parties, where the Syrian Observatory for Human Rights documented the death of 11 persons, they are 7 civilians including an activist, a man, a woman, a child, another man and his child, as well as 4 other persons, also 27 fighters at least of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and the Islamic Movement of Ahrar Sham were killed in executions, shootings, targeting and during clashes between both parties.

The Syrian Observatory had published hours ago that fighters of the Islamic Movement of Ahrar Al-Sham carried out an attack on Zradna town in an attempt to take control of it from the Ahrar al-Sham, in conjunction with mobilization by Ahrar al-Sham to attack Kansafra town which is controlled by Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and has a notorious prison known as the Punishment Prison of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham, while demonstrations are taking place in the western countryside of Aleppo Maarrat al-Hermeh and several other areas in the countryside of Idlib, demanding the battles to be stopped and un-involving the civilians in these battles and protecting them, they also called upon both parties to end the armed demonstration in the towns in which the clashes took place, and to withdraw to outside of it and hand it over to civil administrations to oversee and run it.

On the other hand, cross sources confirmed that a meeting was held through intermediaries between Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and Ahrar Al-Sham Islamic Movement in Saraqeb area, located in the eastern countryside of Idlib, in order to reach an agreement on halting this fighting, which is considered the most violent and widest-scale, as it extends from the north of Idlib to its south and from its east to west. The meeting was followed by battle sounds in the vicinity of the area and then the entry of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham to the town and taking control of it. Information was reported about arrests of Ahrar Al-Sham supporters and fighters who were still present in the city. Meanwhile, clashes continue in Salqeen area between both parties in an attempt by each to take control of the city, which is located at the northern countryside of Idlib. Confirmed information was reported about the fall of the city under the control of Hayyaat Tahrir Al-Sham and the launch of inspection and deployment operations in its neighborhoods.
